How to Prepare Your Business For a Commercial Cleaning Service

Scheduling a commercial cleaning service is the first step in ensuring lasting and continuous cleanliness for your business. If it’s your first time hiring a professional team to clean your space, it may seem a little daunting or confusing.

Much like how some of us clean our dishes before placing them in the dishwasher, it may seem tempting to rush around and do a quick clean before the cleaners arrive, but is it necessary?

In this article, we’ll answer this question and more, providing clear details on what you need to do to prepare your business for a commercial cleaning service.

Preparing Your Workspace for Commercial Cleaning Services

Preparing your business for commercial cleaning is not as time-consuming or daunting as you may think. For the most part, our experts will handle the whole process for you, so all you need to do is enjoy your nice clean space after the fact.

However, there are a few minor arrangements that you’ll need to handle beforehand. But don’t stress as we’ll provide clear and detailed plans and discuss everything with you during our consultation and inspection.

Discuss Your Cleaning Needs

The first step in preparing for a cleaning service is to be clear about your needs and expectations. Like all things in business–and life–communication is key!

Our commercial cleaners will take the time to chat with you and understand your current cleaning processes, needs and expectations. They’ll also walk through your workspace to get a feel for the area and identify key areas to focus on, such as bathrooms, kitchens or offices.

During this initial consultation, we’ll provide expert recommendations and explain our detailed cleaning process and pricing so you know exactly what to expect.

Set a Convenient Time

Once you have perused and accepted our quote, we’ll work with you to create a cleaning plan and schedule that suits your business. We understand that businesses have set hours and routines to stick to, so we aim to be as flexible as possible to ensure minimal disruptions to your operations.

Inform Staff and Consider Alternative Working Arrangements

It is important to notify your staff of your scheduled commercial cleaning services. This allows them time to organise or take home any of their work belongings that they generally leave on the premises.

Additionally, if you opt to have your cleaning services completed during office hours, you may need to consider alternative working arrangements. This could include organising an out-of-office team-building activity, working lunch or even a work-from-home day.

If you’re unable to do this, we’ll work with you to organise a schedule that doesn’t impact your working schedule or operations.

Organise Important Documents and Belongings

Now, going back to that first question: do you need to do a quick cleaning before the professional cleaning service? The simple answer is no, but there are some caveats to that.

It is not necessary to vacuum or wipe anything down before we get there; we’ll do all of that. However, it is helpful and a good idea to organise and put away any important items such as documents or staff belongings.

If anything is left out, we’ll do our best to stack it neatly and safely to the side for the duration of the cleaning and then restore the space afterwards. But, we do recommend warning staff and taking just a few minutes before we arrive to organise things away where you know you’ll find them.

This is just good practice and will also make your space look and feel even neater and cleaner when you and your staff return.

Move Furnishings

Similarly to the last point, our experienced cleaners can move smaller furnishings such as chairs and tables out of the way to ensure a complete clean, especially for carpet steam cleaning or hard floor Strip and Seal services.

If you have the time and manpower, it is beneficial to move out or stack to the side any furniture that you want cleaned underneath. However, like tidying, it is not a necessity. And if you’re ever unsure, you can always speak to our cleaners for tailored advice for your space and to ask if they can move certain items like dining tables and chairs.

Ensure Seamless Commercial Cleaning Services for Your Business

We hope this guide has helped you feel a little more comfortable and confident about preparing for commercial cleaning services. The main takeaway is that communication is key: with your staff to ensure any personal belongings are left where they want them and with our team to ensure that we can meet your needs and expectations.

If you have any other questions about your commercial cleaning, how to best prepare or if you want to book a consultation, you can always contact our expert team to discuss your cleaning needs.
